Cities as Solutions

Join us as we examine the trends shaping our economy, present a detailed report of the past year in downtown, and offer a glimpse into our center city’s future.

Downtown Seattle’s growth continues across all sectors – from jobs and population to construction and retail spending. Since 2010, downtown has added thousands of new residents and tens of thousands of new jobs. Last summer we hosted more construction cranes than any other city in the nation.

This unprecedented growth presents challenges and opportunities.

Vishaan Chakrabarti, author of A Country of Cities and founder of the New York-based firm Partnership for Architecture & Urbanism, will keynote our event this year. Chakrabarti believes cities are powerful tools with which we can shape a prosperous, sustainable future for America.

Following Chakrabarti, DSA President & CEO Jon Scholes will offer an analysis of downtown’s economic progress over the past year and the trends shaping our evolving center city.

In addition to a morning of thought-provoking speeches and networking, guests will receive a complimentary copy of our highly anticipated State of Downtown Economic Report.

If you are interested in sponsorship, our State of Downtown offers exposure to influential and respected Seattle business people. Multiple levels of support are available. Please contact Rachel Padgett at for more information.
