Please join Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Larry Nyland, Seattle School Board President Sherry Carr, and business and community leaders, including Deputy Mayor Kate Joncas, for a one-hour, top-level briefing on the renewal of our School Capital and Operations Levies. These levies will be on the Feb. 9, 2016 ballot.
This is an exciting time for Seattle Public Schools. More families are choosing to raise their children in Seattle and send them to public schools. With student population expected to grow, renewal of the Capital Levy will fund safe, quality learning environments for children throughout the city and build 2,050 new classroom seats to help meet the capacity gap. Renewal of the Operating Levy will fund 25 percent of Seattle Public Schools' budget for critical day-to-day needs for Seattle students, including teaching and instructional programs, textbooks, classroom supplies, student activities and much more.
Find out why renewal of our levies is so important to the future of Seattle and the Puget Sound region and how you can help children across our city succeed in school and life.
