Urban Experience Committee

DSA works to create and maintain an urban experience that is inviting safe and clean for everyone, with an ultimate goal of creating a vibrant 24-hour downtown. Join us each quarter to talk strategy as we guide the evolution of the downtown experience. This is your chance to weigh in on streetscape and public realm improvements, as well as public safety. The effects of capital improvements and downtown’s approach to transportation will be examined as well. Meetings are held quarterly on March 22 and May 2. This group is open to corporate members.

Transportation and Access Committee

DSA believes our long-term transportation success depends on effective, safe and reliable transportation to and through downtown. Keep the city moving with your suggestions on an array of transportation concerns. We will discuss projects ranging from major endeavors like transit and rail to parking, downtown rights-of-way, and access and mobility issues. Meetings are held quarterly at 4 p.m. on Jan. 30, March 22 and June 7. This group is open to corporate members.

Economic Development Committee

Growing the downtown economy is a core tenant of DSA’s mission. Stakeholders from around the community and DSA members will discuss how to guide and encourage the investments, smart growth and economic development that will enable a successful downtown economy. Meetings begin at 2 p.m. on Oct. 12 and convene quarterly thereafter. This group is open to corporate members.

Communications & Marketing Committee

If you are a communications and marketing professional who wants to know what’s happening downtown, this committee might be for you. Your fellow communications professionals will join DSA staff each quarter for informal networking and a download on timely DSA policy issues, programs and events. DSA and MID members are invited and space is limited. Specific meeting dates to be announced. This group is open to all ratepayers and corporate members.

Our members join DSA for different reasons, but they all share a commitment to our mission: to create a healthy, vibrant downtown. If you want to help bring other members on board, please join our monthly meeting as we identify prospective new members and plan member orientation and networking events. Meetings convene year-round at 7:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month. This group is open to corporate members.

MID Clean & Safe Committee

With funding from property owners within the MID, DSA provides clean, safe, concierge and homeless outreach services to six downtown neighborhoods. The Clean and Safe monthly committee meeting is open to Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) rate payers. Operations team and staff members will be on hand to provide updates on MID services and answer questions about MID programs. Meetings are held at 9 a.m. on the second Thursday of every other month. This group is open to all ratepayers and corporate members.

What events are coming to Westlake Park and Occidental Square? Who should we pursue to as partners to activate our public spaces? Weigh in on these issues and more at our quarterly Parks and Public Space Committee meeting. The DSA’s year-long activities at the parks and criteria for potential partners are shaped by members and will influence some of downtown’s most popular public areas. Specific dates to be announced and space is limited. This group is open to all ratepayers and corporate members.
