Downtown Lowdown: Your weekly dose of the top-level events happening in Downtown Seattle.
Monday March 14 (3.14) — Pi Day in Westlake Park and Occidental Square Park
Join us for irrational fun on Pi Day festivities in both parks. We’ll have a pie eating contest in Occidental at noon and a pie eating contest in Westlake at 5 p.m. It’s free to participate, although only a small number of spots are available. Spectating is also free!
Tuesday, March 15 — Food Trucks in Westlake Park and Occidental Square Park
Our food trucks are ready to serve you delicious meals (for lunch and dinner), six days per week in Westlake and five days a week in Occidental. Check out the schedules for Westlake Park and Occidental Square Park!
Wednesday, March 16 — Workout Wednesdays at Seattle Center
Join in free drop-in classes, which are open to all ages and experience levels, ideal for neighborhood residents, downtown workers and families every Wednesday at Seattle Center. Find more info here.
When: Zumba (6 – 7 p.m.) Yoga (7:30 – 8:30 p.m.), every Wednesday

Friday, March 18 — Daffodil Day in Westlake Park
To celebrate the first day of spring, Pike Place Market volunteers and community members will brighten up corners of downtown Seattle with the distribution of 10,000 locally grown daffodils. Students from the Pike Market Child Care and Preschool will hand out flowers from 11:30 a.m. to noon at Westlake Park.
Friday, March 18 — PNB’s Director’s Choice
PNB’s Director’s Choice includes three contemporary ballets, two with music by young American singer/songwriters. Gibson’s electrifying Rush kicks off a trio of works featuring PNB premieres by two rising stars in the world of dance. Tickets are still available!

Saturday, March 19 — U Link Launch Day
Sound Transit is kicking off U Link service with a free community celebration March 19. Here’s a sample of what we have in store at each station: face painting, info booths, food trucks, tours and much more! More information here.
