Goal: Improve access to, from and through Downtown.

Objectives

  • Advocate for replacing the Viaduct with an alternative that supports a healthy Downtown and an accessible waterfront, and advocate for construction mitigation strategies that protect the Downtown economy
  • Advocate for improvements to the regional transportation network
  • Enhance transit flow through Downtown while supporting vehicle access, pedestrian and retail use
  • Support the Downtown Transportation Alliance goal of reducing single occupancy vehicle commute trips to Downtown by 6 percentage points by 2015
  • Advocate for funding for replacing the 520 bridge
  • Advocate for Downtown “Bridging the Gap” and “Transit Now” projects
  • Support the South Lake Union and Waterfront Street Car lines and street car line expansion
