Imagination Playground – Building Blocks, Fun in Belltown
The Belltown Community Center opened its doors back in September, a project that was years in the making now open for community members to use. In a Downtown Seattle neighborhood that is heavily residential (with a dense population of families and singles alike) a space for children to play, people to meet and activities for all ages was a serious need.
Notice that first description of the new community center – a space for children to play.
Now, that play space will take on any number of shapes with the help of Imagination Playground. Take a look at the image – big blue blocks, building different shapes and structures and it seems as if the only limit on what your little one can build is…imagination. With funding from the Seattle Parks Foundation, Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Seattle Association, the big blue building blocks of Imagination Playground will spark creativity in young minds at the Belltown Community Center.
The blocks are avaialble for use during kid play time on Saturdays and at other times during the week, the hours are listed below.
Can’t make it during the listed hours but want to take the blocks to a Downtown park for your children to use? Contact the Belltown Community Center at 206-684-7245.
