Downtown Residents and Visitors Express Strong Support for Children’s Play Space

Imagination Playground, Manhattan
The Downtown Seattle Association is working to make Downtown more family and kid-friendly and has identified development of an outdoor children’s play space in the Retail Core as an immediate priority.
Downtown residents have been asked to submit their feedback and comments on the proposal and the response has been tremendous in just the first month. Click below to view the enthusiastic responses and comments to date.
The DSA is working in partnership with the City of Seattle to identify a short and longer term play space to provide a free, easily accessible and visible opportunity for children to play and exercise in Downtown. Westlake Park and McGraw Square (the plaza at the southern terminus of the South Lake Union Streetcar) are being considered as potential locations for a pilot program this summer, while a permanent space and concept is developed. If you haven’t submitted your comments and feedback yet, please share them in the comments section below.
